The Best Brownies
2 squares semisweet chocolate
6 T. butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour, sifted
1/4 t. salt
1/2 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
Melt chocolate and butter together. Add to sugar, and blend. Add eggs and blend. Add dry ingredients and vanilla, and blend. Pour into a greased and floured pan (approx 9x9). Bake at 325 degrees for 32 minutes. After cooling, cut them in the pan, then sift or shake powdered sugar over them before removing the squares from the pan.
We eat them right out of the freezer, while they are frozen, and sometimes I quadruple the recipe, but put them into three pans instead of four to make them a little thicker.
