4 tbsp cooking oil
1 /12 cups chicken, pork or shrimp
¼ tsp pepper
4 tbsp soy sauce
¼ tsp sugar
½ tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp cooking wine
2 slices ginger sliced or ¼ tsp ground ginger, OR ½ cup consommé
2 minced cloves garlic
2 cups shredded Chinese cabbage
1 cup sliced onion
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 large green pepper, sliced
½ tsp salt2 tbsp soy sauce
½ cup water
14 oz/397 g package steam fried noodles ***
Combine meat with pepper, 2 tbsp soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, wine and ginger or garlic. Mix well and let marinate for 15 – 30 minutes
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok or skillet. Add onions, celery, mushrooms, cabbage, green pepper, salt and 2 tbsp soy sauce. Mix and cool with high heat for 2 minutes.
Add marinated meat and cook covered for additional 1 – 2 minutes, stirring constantly. When meat has changed color, stir in water and consommé. When gravy thickens pour over noodles. Serve.
***To prepare noodles, Place into 8 cups of boiling, lightly salted water and boil for 1 minute, pour into colander to drain
